In mid 2007 Burnett Inland North Local Government Association Cluster BINLAGChosted an environmental expo for kids at the Monto Show Grounds. Primary School students from Abercorn, St Therese’s Primary School, and Monto State Primary worked their way through an interactive circuit of presentations and activities.
The day’s favorite was the White Throated Snapping Turtle (Elseya Spp) presented by Qld Parks and Wildlife. Everyone had a great day, the kids were excited and the presenters were left wondering what effect that small deposit of environmental awareness might have over the lifetime of the children attending.
